On the evening of November 18, the presentation ceremony of the 6th Ghana Sustainability & Social Investment Awards (SSI) was held in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The social investment project of Golden Star Wassa Ltd., a member of Chifeng Gold Group, finally won three best awards, namely, the Best Company in Project Providing Educational Facilities 2022, the Best Company in Project Promoting Road Safety Education & Practices 2022 and the Best Company in Girl Child Education & Empowerment Program 2022.

The SSI Awards represent the top award in the fields of sustainability & social investment in Ghana. Initiated by Ghana’s Ministry of Trade & Industry, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Rights Protection and Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, the SSI Awards are composed of 40 unit awards and 20 individual awards. Participants include benchmarking enterprises and NGOs in various industries such as finance, telecommunications, mining, energy, electricity, chemical industry, medical care, logistics, food, agriculture and consumer goods. Golden Star Wassa Ltd. applied for a total of 11 unit awards this year, and it was nominee of 7 awards at the award presentation ceremony, and won 3 best awards.
