Energy saving and energy utilization

In terms of energy for production, 27 million RMB was invested in the transformation of substations and new lines. On the one hand, it meets the needs of expanding production scale; on the other hand, the application of new equipment and line upgrade reduces transmission line losses, improves power supply stability and quality, and provides a better guarantee for the safe operation of production system. In addition, 24 million RMB was invested to transform the underground power supply system, which improved the stability and safety of underground power supply and reduced the transformer losses and line losses. These two investment projects reduce power consumption by 4.85 million KWh every year.

At the same time, the underground drainage system was reformed in each sub-mine, and energy-efficient equipment was selected. Upon completion, unattended operation was realized, the drainage capacity was greatly improved, the drainage system was more stable, and the convenient operation brought about a reduction in labor cost. According to comprehensive statistics, the power consumption is reduced by 294KWh every year.

In terms of mine heating, the geothermal energy recycling pipe network system was designed and constructed by using the underground hot spring resources in the mine. It solves the winter heating problem in the mine without water consumption, and saves 7.32 million KWh of electric energy every year.

Greening emission reduction and environmental management

To build a green, ecological and park-style mine, a perfect ecological restoration and land reclamation plan has been formulated in combination with the regional ecological environment characteristics. More than RMB 30 million was invested to restore and manage the geological environment. In recent years, about 70,000 m3 of backfilling and 60,000 m3 of covering soil have been accumulated in the mine. More than 500 acres of forest land have been restored and more than 40,000 trees have been planted. In 2021, the “park-style” mine beautification activity was organized to repair 15 km of roads around the mine, install 200 solar street lamps, plant nearly 10,000 ornamental flowers and trees, and construct the landmark landscape, cloisters, railings and flowers and trees planting areas. Upon completion, the local government departments visited and investigated many times and highly complimented the mine. The mine has been widely publicized in the region as a benchmark for regional mine beautification construction. At the same time, the tailings pond was treated. The effective total storage capacity was 1,422,100 m3, and the remaining 610,000 m3 were being backfilled. 35 mu of tailings pond with a total area of 120 mu has been treated, and RMB 40.83 million has been invested to the treatment of tailings pond in the past four years.

To strengthen environmental risk prevention and emergency management, and establish and improve the forecasting and early warning mechanism, a complete emergency plan for environmental emergencies has been developed according to regulations. In November, 2020, we obtained the acceptance certificate of mine geological environment restoration and entered the List of Green Mines in Liaoning Province.

Digital upgrading of production system

The construction of “Digital Smart Mine” not only represents the application of more advanced science and technology in contemporary times, but also defines the development direction of mining enterprises in the future. The “digital transformation”of production system of Wulong Gold Mining includes two parts: underground production system and beneficiation system. In terms of underground production system, it has not only upgraded the “six major systems” (underground monitoring, people positioning, communication, act of rescue, forced air self-rescue and water supply for rescue) that have been built, but also signed a strategic agreement with local mobile communication operators on the construction of underground “5G +” Internet cloud processing data system. It plans to apply “5G” technology to the construction and application of industrial Internet scenarios such as driverless, unattended, intelligent dispatching, expert control, digital management and intelligent decision.

The construction sub-project of dressing mill with daily capacity of 3,000 tons has been selected as the key promotion project of “Three Great Chapters” in Liaoning Province and the key construction project in Dandong City. The project includes the construction of dressing mill, tailings transportation system, tailings filter press workshop and ancillary facilities. The equipment system configuration of the project has reached the top five in China, and its automation and intelligence level are leading in China. A three-layer network architecture of production management layer, process control layer and field equipment layer is built to realize such functions as online monitoring of process parameters, automatic control and production information management, and integrated display of network data in the processes of crushing and screening, grinding and classification, flotation, reagent preparation, concentration and filtration, and tailings transportation.

Effective and feasible environmental protection facilities are allocated to control waste gas, waste water, waste residue and noise produced in the production of dressing mill. The protective and controllable environmental protection facilities are designed in the whole process to isolate the wastes that may be generated in the production from human and operating environment for the purpose of purification. When the project is implemented, the environmental protection facilities are designed, constructed and put into use at the same time as the main project.

Relief and charity benefiting the society and communities around the mine

Since 2020, COVID-19 has imposed a great impact on social economy. Wulong Gold Mining has organized many donations and donated epidemic prevention materials for the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the mining area, with donations of about RMB 890,000 and donated materials worth RMB 200,000. In addition, villages around the mine were also rescued and helped. Specifically, RMB 100,000 was donated for cleaning and other work for those poor villagers to solve their livelihood problems; RMB 200,000 was donated for Banshi Village around the mine to build roads in the village; RMB 2.2 million was invested to clean up nearly 8,000 m2 of artificial river bottom of the surrounding Banshi River, which greatly relieved the flood hazards in rainy season and benefited local villagers and downstream areas.

Employee health & safety management

Starting from the goal of “safety first, prevention first”, advanced technology and equipment are actively adopted to improve the automation in the production and eliminate the hidden dangers of insecurity and health hazards. In view of the factors endangering safe production in the project, active preventive measures have been taken in the design to effectively prevent accidents and ensure the safety of employees. At the same time, regular physical examination of employees, establishment of psychological counseling center, organization of employees to participate in safety training, improvement of safety awareness and self-protection awareness of employees can effectively ensure the physical and mental health of employees.
