Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in China, LXML, a subsidiary of Chifeng Gold, has paid close attention to the pandemic situation. In addition to donating masks to support domestic mine operations, LXML recently handed over a financial contribution of $15,000 USD to the Ministry of Energy and Mine Lao PDR (MEM). This contribution was pooled into the fund jointly raised by the Laos-China Friendship Association and Vientiane Administration Office to assist victims of the COVID-19 in China.

On February 5, 2021, in the meeting of PM Office (Laos) and relevant ministries, the Minister of Energy and Mines reported to the Prime Minister on the donation from LXML and expressed his gratitude to LXML for its contribution to the COVID response in China.

The Prime Minister also expressed deep concerns about the current pandemic situation in China and said he would pray for the Chinese people (Note: Lao PDR is a country of Buddhism).
