On the morning of March 16, local time, Chen Zhiyong, Director and Executive President of Chifeng Gold and Chairman of Golden Star Resources, and his party went to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources of Ghana to attend the donation ceremony of the local Apiate Community Support Fund.
At the beginning of this year, an explosion accident in southern Ghana caused hundreds of buildings in Apiate community to collapse. As a member of Ghana Mining Association, Golden Star Resources donated 200,000 US dollars to Apiate Community Support Fund to support the post-disaster reconstruction of the community.
At the donation ceremony, Ms. Joyce Aryee, Chairman of Apiate Community Support Fund Committee, said that Golden Star Wassa is one of the best-operated mines in Ghana. After learning of the accident, Chifeng Gold and Golden Star Resources immediately made a decision to assist Apiate community reconstruction, and she expressed her deep gratitude.
On behalf of Chifeng Gold and Golden Star Resources, Chen Zhiyong delivered a speech at the donation ceremony, thanking the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for its support to Chifeng Gold's acquisition of Golden Star Wassa Mine. Since the completion of the acquisition, Chifeng Gold has actively invested in the development of Golden Star Wassa Mine to safeguard the interests of shareholders and relevant parties.
