Recently, Wang Jianhua, Chairman of Chifeng Gold, Lydia Yang, Director and President, and Li Jinyang, controlling shareholder of Chifeng Gold, went to LXML in Laos to make a work trip and listen to the work report. Gao Bo, Director and Vice President of Chifeng Gold and Chairman of LXML , Karl Baker Duly, General Manager of LXML, and Zhou Xinbing, Vice President of Chifeng Gold and Deputy General Manager of LXML, accompanied the visitors during the entire work trip.

From April 10 to 11, Chairman Wang Jianhua and his delegate listened to the report on 2023 annual financial budget and Q1 financial performance of LXML in the Vientiane office. Chairman Wang Jianhua urged LXML to strictly implement the financial budget formulated by the company this year. He said that we should not only pay attention to the work of reducing costs and increasing efficiency, but also place focus on the long-term development of the company, especially in increasing mineral reserves through exploration and making investment into mineral processing to achieve breakthroughs. Karl, General Manager of LXML, expressed to the Chairman the determination of all employees of the company to fulfill the annual financial budget, and highlighted the main measures to be taken to increase revenues and reduce costs in 2023.

From April 12 to 13, the delegate led by Wang Jianhua came to the Sepon mine and attended a meeting to listen to the report on site operations. The content of the meeting mainly included: 2023 production plan and Q1 production performance of the company, the work report of each production department and supporting department, an investigation into the plan and outlook of the technical department and exploration department over company development.

Wang Jianhua stressed that at present, LXML has entered a new stage of development and should work around three major shifts, namely, shifting from surface operation to underground, shifting from refractory ore to non-refractory non-Carlin ore and shifting from gold to a combination of gold and copper. These three major shifts indicate that Sepon will open up new horizons. He encouraged all employees of LXML to affirm confidence and seize opportunities. On one hand, we should ensure the smooth operation of production and improve the efficiency of all work links to achieve the production targets; on the other hand, we must be brave in innovation, enhance our efforts in exploration activities to increase reserves, implement key projects in a quick manner and formulate strategies  for the newly discovered large quantities of easy-to-mine and non-refractory ore in the deep area to achieve production as soon as possible.

Lydia Yang said that the company's main priority at present is to ensure production, reduce costs and improve profit levels. She hopes that the company can unite to overcome difficulties, so that Sepon mine can operate at its optimum, keep its overall cost in line with that of the leading mines in the world, and eventually we can enjoy the sweet rewards of our hard work.

Li Jinyang expressed her deep gratitude to the front-line staff for their efforts and contributions to the development of Chifeng Gold. She said that she was very happy to see the positive attitude of all employees and believed that the company would combine the advantages of Chinese and Western management cultures to assist Chifeng Gold in promoting internationalization and continuously improving its management level. She is full of hope for the future development of the company and is very proud to be a shareholder of Chifeng Gold.

Afterwards, accompanied by Gao Bo, Chairman of LXML, and other management, Wang Jianhua and his delegate successively visited the DSE02 open-pit mine and the extension area of WTSF currently under construction, and listened to the introduction to cost reduction measures, development prospect and work plan in the next stage by the front-line staff, and made comments over key work.

In the evening, Chairman Wang Jianhua had dinner with the mine management personnel, expressed his appreciation to the front-line hard workers, and delivered his greetings to all employees for the upcoming Lao New Year.
