On October 29th, Golden Star Wassa mine  organized an event on the site to mark the  breast cancer education and prevention month. Mr. Wang Jianhua, the chairman,  and Ms. Lydia Yang, the director and president of Chifeng Gold were invited to participate in the event on the sideline of their mine inspection tour to promote the awareness and the care of  the health for women employee.   

Every October is selected as World  Breast Cancer Prevention and Control Month, also known as "Pink Ribbon Month". Due to change on  lifestyle, socio-economic landscape and the deteriorating environment, the incidence of  breast cancer has witnessed a rapid increase  in recent years and the early prevention, screening and treatment are becoming increasingly critical. Golden Star Wassa mine vigorously responds to this call by strengthening the cancer prevention and controls program and enhancing  the public awareness and education. Throughout the month of October, the mine had designed and organized a variety of events and activities for the wide participation and sound actions by the employees

On the day of the event, the employees lit a candle and prayed for  breast cancer patients, spreading the compassion and resilience. The light of the candle symbolizes the warm hope and illuminates the way ahead.

President Lydia Yang stated in her speech that the  breast cancer, one of the serious diseases for women, not only present a huge challenge to patients' physical and mental health, but also imposes a heavy burden on their families and society. Therefore, raising the awareness of  the breast cancer  and advocating  early screening and treatment is the responsibility of  every mother, daughter, and female employee. She called on every female employee to undergo the regular  medical checks, closely monitor their own health situation for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment so as to enjoy the good health,  work and  life.

The chairman, Mr. Wang Jianhua prayed for the health of every mother and daughter in the world during the event, calling on all employees to care about  their female friends and join hands to guard their health and the fight against breast cancer. Mr. Wang Jianhua also mentioned  that with the development of science and technology,  the  disease such as breast cancer will eventually be cured, and  all patients are expected to positively cope with the reality  and create a better future.

Together with the management  team and the employee representatives of Wassa Mine, President Lydia Yang sliced the celebration cake, the symbol of rebirth  for  the  cancer patients who will fend off the disease and embrace a new better life. All participants released pink balloons which drifted away with blessings, spreading care and hopes to more people far away.

The event wrapped up with the singing and dancing, full of good wishes. The activity in the event not only enhances the cohesion spirit  among the employees, but also contributed to the campaign of  breast cancer prevention and control.
