On May 4, local time in Ghana, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Resources of Ghana, met with Chairman Wang Jianhua and his party in Accra.
Minister Jinapor welcomed Chairman Wang Jianhua's visit. He said that Ghana is the largest gold producer in Africa, and the President is determined to increase investment in infrastructure, especially in mining, finance, port logistics and trade, so as to make Ghana an important mining center in the world, and Ghana has ushered in the best investment opportunity period in history. Minister Jinapor believes that Chifeng Gold’s successful acquisition of Wassa Gold Mine in January this year is a very correct decision. He congratulated Chifeng Gold and Chairman Wang Jianhua, and hoped to convey confidence to investors in China through Chairman Wang Jianhua. Ghana hopes to continue to deepen cooperation with Chinese enterprises and will continue to provide better help for Chinese enterprises.
Minister Jinapor said that Chifeng Gold strictly abided by laws and regulations and contracts during its investment and merger in Ghana, and its high efficiency and good achievements in community relations were impressive, which fully proved that Chifeng Gold is a responsible Chinese enterprise. He hopes to have the opportunity to discuss with Chifeng Gold other investment cooperation opportunities in the development of gold, lithium, bauxite and other resources together with the CEO of the Mincom and the Deputy Minister of Lands and Resources. He will also personally report to the President on strengthening cooperation with Chifeng Gold.
Minister Jinapor said he hopes to visit China as soon as possible after the epidemic eased, and hopes to meet more friends and investors in China's mining industry through Chairman Wang Jianhua.
Chairman Wang Jianhua expressed his heartfelt thanks to Minister Jinapor for personally attending the delivery ceremony of Chifeng Gold's acquisition of Wassa Gold Mine, he also thanked Minister Jinapor for his trust and was willing to convey the message that Ghana welcomes Chinese enterprises’ investment to China's mining industry associations, the partner China-Africa Fund for Production Capacity Cooperation and other important mining enterprises as soon as possible after returning to China. Chairman Wang Jianhua strongly agreed with Minister Jinapor's point of view that Ghana is rich in resources, perfect in legal system and strong in government support, which is the best investment and development period in history for mining enterprises. Chifeng Gold will continue to increase its investment in Ghana. At present, it has developed a strategic plan to increase the daily ore processing scale of Wassa Gold Mine to 10,000 tons. Chifeng Gold Group will also give Wassa strong support in exploration and engineering construction. At the same time, Chifeng Gold will continue to practice the value of “benefit more people with the development of Chifeng Gold”, attach importance to environmental protection and community development, actively undertake social responsibilities, establish a good image of Chinese enterprises, and make due contributions to promoting economic cooperation and friendly exchanges between China and Ghana.
