On the afternoon of June 9, 2022 (local time), Chen Zhiyong, Director & Executive President of Chifeng Gold and Chairman of Golden Star Resources, met with Xu Jun, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Huawei Coal Mine Corps, and his delegation in Accra Office. The two sides discussed the feasibility and cooperation of building intelligent mine in Vasa Gold Mine.

Chen Zhiyong welcomed Xu Jun and his delegation and thanked Huawei for attaching great importance to future cooperation.

Chen Zhiyong introduced the development history, primary business, overseas project development of Chifeng Gold and basic situation of Vasa Gold Mine, and recalled the cooperation intention between Wang Jianhua, Chairman of the Group, and Zhou Wei, General Manager of Huawei Technologies (Ghana) Co., Ltd. during his investigation in Ghana. He said that Golden Star Resources intends to update and transform Vasa Gold Mine’s operation system in recent years by means of mine automation, information technology and intelligent transformation, to improve production efficiency and reduce production costs. He hoped that the two sides would further communicate closely and jointly establish an innovative cooperation mechanism. He also welcomed the staff of Huawei Coal Mine Corps to visit Vasa Gold Mine.

Xu Jun introduced the original intention of Huawei Coal Mine Corps and its domestic development, business layout and service cases in recent years. He said that Huawei Coal Mine Corps will focus on overseas development in the future. He hoped to strengthen cooperation with Chifeng Gold and Golden Star Resources in the field of mine intelligence, and construct Vasa Gold Mine into a demonstration project, so as to drive the development of Huawei Coal Mine Corps in West Africa.
